In the Money Market there are 3 Types of money which are Commodity Money, Representative Money, and Fiat Money. Where Commodity money is things that represent money such as livestock and goods, Representative Money which is money backed my precious metals such as the gold standard, and Fiat money which is money backed by the word of the government. There are then also 3 functions of money which are Medium of Exchange, Store of Value, and Unit of Account. Medium of Exchange is that it is through money that exchanges happen, Store of Value is where you store money in hope that it will retain it's value to buy something, and Unit of Account is when the price implies its worth but it is not always true.
